I've been so busy these past few weeks that I have been neglecting my blog! but, it's worth the wait folks =) I just received CD's of images from photographer Ben kwan from the shoots that we did together. Lets just say they look AWESOME. I'm so excited about them. Every time we meet up we always a good long chat about everything. It's just nice to talk to someone who thinks the same and someone who I can learn from as well. Looks can be deceiving...Ben knows more about fashion then I do! We are also in the process of planning a few more shoots together. We are taking advantage of the nice weather as much as we can. One of the shoots is going to take place at a playground and, the other possible at the beach! I think the main challenge is to shoot on location but, to shoot it in a way that it doesn't look like an obvious "playground" or a Vancouver beach.
I know i've been putting it off with posting my little paper flower project. The reason being is the head piece shoot just didn't turn out the way the rest of the team wanted to. It was a shame and a bit waste of time but, it was worth making the overall decision to just re-do the whole series with a stronger model, who actually likes to model!!! I understand new face models are new to the scene but, you agreed to be a model or at least to try it out so, come to a set with some enthusiasm and with a personality, not with an attitude that seems like your mom forced you to be a model or that you wish you were doing something better. If modeling isn't your first priority then get out of it! go and learn and explore and study anything and everything that you want. There's no rush, model's now are so young that they have tons of time to develop as, a person, as a model, as a individual. Every photo shoot new models attend are all a learning experience . I say take it with a great deal of gratefulness , and a positive attitude.
In the mean time, my next shoot is with pooya on sunday, followed by a shoot with ben kwan again then its the Know show! I posted up some teaser photos from the last shoots I did with Ben. I can't post all of them yet since Ben is working on putting them into a series so we can submit them! so cross your fingers for us! And, of course I do PROMISE to post up my paper flower project, once the ball gets rolling.
I've also posted up my "anthem" for the past few months. I'll just let the song speak for how I feel in general lately =)

Actual work
It's a gorgeous day today in Vancouver! Finally! even though I'm not to much of a beach person I'll defiantly be one of those people riding my bike around the sea wall. I tan easily and fast so hopefully I don't get to to dark,or get any raccoon eyes while wearing sunglasses. I'm sitting at my new job and, just taking everything in. Everything is exactly what I expected. It's a small company and since I've joined the team now in total there is 3 of us working. I just found out earlier today all the trade shows i'll be attending. This part I'm personally excited for. I've always been interested in the snowboard / skateboard industry and to actually attend the trade shows that so many brands that I even personally love are going to be all under one roof what a hoot that will be also with cute boys! First up will be the Know Show in Vancouver, second will be little trade shows held at the building in Vancouver as well, thirdly the Trends show in Edmonton then to end it all the Magic show in Las Vegas!! It's a great way to network and to shake hands with the industry insiders. So many travel plans already in such short notice. We will also be making a little road trip to victoria. I'm glad my boss and my other co-worker are super cool laid back people who are originally from Montreal. Go figure hey?? Good thing my passport is still working. Since being with this new company I've learnt that you definitely need to be aggressive. I'm a entrepreneur at heart so this was just right up my alley.
Recently I have received many emails regarding photo shoots and some already planned. Since starting my blog I've been getting more request to do shoots then usual. The last few weeks I've been shooting with photographer Ben Kwan. I'm so happy with his work and end results, I'm even more happier that we have a good stylist and photographer relationship. I always make an effort to have the atmosphere on any shoots that I'm on to be laid back, easy going and fun! I goof around a lot on set but, I do actually do my work! My next shoot is with Pooya. Lets just say that shoot is going to be SEXY! I always enjoy oiling up a hot male model. Anything for a shoot I suppose..... After my shoot with Ben Kwan I sat down and had a chit chat over coffee with one of my favorite makeup artist. We originally were suppose to meet up for an hour or so to talk about concepts but ended up chatting for 2 hours then talked about concepts for an hour.
on a side note...
Like I mentioned in my last post that I would be posting up photos of my little art project that I did, with the inspirations from Channel's 2009 couture show making paper flowers. I'll post up photos of the Channel version then mine underneath as soon as I receive the photos from the photo shoot. All I ask is don't laugh! Next photos i'll be posting will be the one's from Ben kwan and perhaps i'll start posting behind the scenes to, show you that I'm not just all play!
